Q: Why do I have to pay £1 for a towel hire or for a locker and why isn’t it free
A: Towels are FREE for anyone that books a private room. However in dorm rooms we charge for towels. By doing so we can charge £2 less per bed per night as a direct result. Some backpackers prefer to bring their own travel towels and may have no need for a towel. So, we feel it’s unfair to charge someone for something they may not even use. Its an option extra for your convenience. Meanwhile lockers in the bedrooms and dorms are free to use and you be supplied a key upon check-in so no need to bring paddocks.
Q: Can I upgrade to a private room?
A: Assuming there is availability then yes and private rooms are good for couples
Q: What security is there in the hostel?
A: We have CCTV in ALL communal rooms, entrances, and hallways, except of course for showers, bathrooms and we do not have any CCTV in any of the dorm rooms. We respect guest’s privacy and at the same time we want to offer a safe and secure environment for everyone including staff. CCTV is there for your safety. Lockers next to the reception desk are covered by CCTV however please do not leave valuables unattended as we cannot be held liable for any missing items during your stay. It is your responsibility to look after your belongings. Should an incident happen our staff can roll back the CCTV to help an investigation.
Q: Is there parking available
A: There is disabled parking right outside the front which is free parking for disabled, there is a 30 min loading bay at the front of the hotel, across the road is up to 90 min paid parking. There is also two carparks, one is located at the back of the shopping mall which is 30 seconds walk across the road and the other is at the back of the winter gardens just two minutes walk up the road, this one is £5 for 24 hour parking. Bikes can be locked up on the metal railings at the front of our hotel should that be needed.
Q: What about transport links
A: There is a tram that can take you to all the main attractions, the tram is located on the promenade. Simply walk 2 minutes through the mall to the beach exit and you will see the tram line, a 24-hour pass is the best option.
Q: Do you have an Ironing board, Iron, Hair dryers
A: Yes, available upon request and subject to if they are in use by other guests at the time.
Q: Do you have a restaurant or bar in your hostel
A: No instead we have a hot drinks vending machine which can dispense, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, we also have a cold drinks vending and a food and snacks vending machine available 24-hours.
Q: Do you require a deposit upon check-in
A: Yes, every guest is required to pay a £10 refundable cash deposit upon check-in. this will be retuned upon check-out when guests return items given to them at check in such as TV remote, towels, keys etc.
Q: Is smoking or e-cigarettes allowed ?
A:No smoking or e-cigarettes are allowed inside the building including inside rooms. However we have a nice rear garden that is a designated smoking zone, please use the ashtrays provided.
Q: Do you offer a 24 hour reception desk?
A: No our reception desk opening times are not 24 hours. Generally during busy times reception is open from 8am to 11:30am to assist during checkout and open again from 2pm and up to 10pm for check-in guests. Should reception be closed we will either leave a phone number to call or the on-site manager will be around the hotel, we have a doorbell at the reception door that you can ring to get attention.
